The TV, the Movie, the CD,the DVD, the Internet Browsing have all but helped develop and cater to the Ulterior motives, Ulterior Interests, Hidden Interests, desires, of the human un- kind than in going in for helping the world get over many existing problems. The human inventions are INTERVENTIONS !!, to be loathed sometimes. Because the wireless was not put to GOOD USE AS AN ALERT TOOL  in the world for the train's  engine drivers, but it was used  fully liberally and wrongly by  criminals, anti social and anti national  elements; thereby the railways the world over esp in the developing countries,  killed many people by sheer careless admin and separated many families by death . A  simple 100/-Rupees electronic equipment  would have saved precious  lives!  This is no exaggeration, but truth. There is no fate, these are human errors of a gross kind!! Unknown innocents become the victims ultimately!!

The way the movies  have brought to reality and purportedly for closer understanding, the vital elements of gender differences,  wrong approaches to gender by the  few unconcerned, by unknowingly enforcing wrong ideologies,or myths  by making them live longer, thereby exploiting,  miniaturising  women,   as if there are no other preoccupations for mankind or rather malekind.  The male are there more gentlemanly masculine.  Watching these movies at home, at theaters, many children of adolescent age go diverted with perverted interests at a young age, trying to get to the top with their peer groups, not knowing what they are going about, what challenges and what pursuits. It is all peer group pressure.  Children's  mob- psychology and the resultant damages to their lives are caused by the producers of movies of a particular kind, who are not matured in understanding the human society  and  its  needs. The state has a function to restrict pornography blaspheming humanity by highlighting quality in every media venture. Unfortunately there are no laws to decide what is good and what is bad in the media.  

Love is over emphasised. People become emotional and feel they should do as in the movies. They take things disproportionately.  Sex is over emphasised. Transcending and Brilliant tastes  of Bach's music, or Picasso's paintings are not appreciated. Tastes are spoiled. Ultimately,. the psychology says the movies  are the mere necessity-expressions of the inner feelings of the producers, they have no educative value, whatever and they are to make money and spoil the masses, so that police and counsellors may find  some work, as criminals abound, as families are torn. Intelligent police personnel and counsellors appreciate these perspectives. Digging one's own funeral. Increasing work loads when loads of work remain undone!!

In the name of portrayal of the real, as if no one knows it (even if one is given education in the knowledge of such evil things, there is no use with such knowledge beyond a level of knowing).

How you will protect your boy from becoming an antisocial being? Or girl?

The parents most of them are consumers and have hardly time to complete their consumption !!  they are busy with their own little chores to grind. A few are bothered about their kids and their future in store. 

They produce no good results in the upbringing of their children except as  Knowledge Tanks, Job Seekers with potentials. If life is not designed and pursued for its worthier goals at a younger age, what is life!  The earth is grand, it gives time once and never again it is given again!! 

The results are horrible. The internet is going ahead with so many unhealthy, perverted, pursuits that school children and animals are biologically threatened by grown up men and women of the 3rd kind.Is it so difficult to put any new discovery or invention to good use ?? Why there are no controls over these unrestricted porns.  

How can rape be considered as something worth pursuing when there is suppression of the other individual and his/her  basic rights. And when there is no involvement of the other.  It is due to lack of proper sex education. If there is education, and still if crime is there, then it is due to lack of education for human culture ,civilisation and values.

It should be taught as, of no gain. It is only an abnormal  mental state which blows up an imaginary, unreal, disproportionate image of achieving something, as a personal pleasure.  There is real joy in loving children/animals and also adults. The movie,the media  and the parents should be blamed for the punishment given to the culprits. Our advice is be alert when you have an adol. boy or girl with you, and shift the boy or girl and go to a new place if there is any trouble. It will give respite. Or have an open talk. Let them have a good life, a good future. Let there be relationships of love and affection. If it is so allow it. And body relationships after matured status for full reaping. WHAT IS SEX WITHOUT LOVE! AND VICE VERSA?  

Let there be no premature perversions of the bodies or infatuation of minds.  The mind teaches love love and love, blindly. It also teaches hate, hate,and  hate,blindly  after culmination in  marriage and after some years of marriage. (in 90%cases). Premature Relationships break. It is high time, the internet is ordered by a world body in the interest of humanity's progeny !!

A community's welfare or illfare, depends upon its citizens and what they do. Its media men. Its talkative people, Its news mongers, its eaves-droppers, its lobbyists, its hood winkers, its social work organisations, media men, press reporters,tv,radio,and its' organisation heads who turn a Nelson's eye etc.

While the bureaucrats, and  the politicians some time share their social responsibilities, the remaining  journalists, writers, columnists, and social workers may not have any DUTIES TO THE NATION, BUT THEY MAY BE IN UNJUST POSSESSION OF RIGHTS OVER THE NATION, and downright paid wreckers of a solid wholesome nation . Leave alone the good. We need them.

The last resort is to resort to verbal attack but it should be the last resort. What good have they done better than Abraham Lincoln, or Gandhi.is the question. 

It takes  much to be a leader and to be at the top. There is no crowd, and there one is all alone, even relatives plunder their position, and no one helps in reality. This is known only to them. Not to the spectators, gossipers who have no liability or accountability toward the people.

 Case  No 1

Date of  Crime: July 7, 2001

Abeetha, a four year old girl child, is the daughter of Muniamma and Mallachamy belonging to dhobi(washerman)community of Dhobi Dhalit caste. The family  resided in a town panchayath area (Madurai Dist,Tamilnadu,India ) where mostly domestic workers, dhobies, construction  workers, small vendors,residing in the area  earn livelihood by getting work from  the nearby urban areas.  

An interview by woman activist,Ms R Shenbagavalli with Muniamma,  mother of the abused child. 

R.Shenbagavalli :    What happened on that day? 

Muniamma: Two years back my daughter Abeetha was 4 years old.   She was studying in nursery class. We belong to Dhobi Dalith(Pudhirai Vannan) community I was washing cloths at 7 o' clock in the night and my husband went out to a tea shop, I met Kumar's mother ( the boy who sexually assaulted my daughter) and she informed me that Abeetha  is dancing for a song played by Kumar.   I took it casually. Suddenly I heard the cries of my daughter and ran fast. I saw a blood pool on the floor and I was shocked. Since the Women's Group was functioning effectively in our area all our members came rushing out. My daughter told in bits and pieces of what happened to her, Immediately with other members I went to the office of the Centre for Working Women(CWW).

The CWW's representative Ms Shenbagavalli R,continues the story:        When the group members came to our office I was also equally shocked. Then I realized that I had to take the initiative., The whole atmosphere was emotionally charged. Then I contacted  concerned persons like lawyers and doctors, to get the  medico legal opinion. 

Ms Ganapathy Ammal, a member of the CWW also accompanied us  to the police station.  What happened in the police station?:

Ganapathy Ammal:  The police refused to file the case. The Sub Inspector suggested that there would be a quarrel between the two families. That was why, the affected child's family was blaming the other family. When we shouted at him for being arrogant in his approach he shouted at us and told us not show unity. He criticised our collective strength.  After nearly an hour, of arguments, persuasions, and beckoning the inspector was forced to file case.

The treatment in the hospital: The CWW:  After our persuasions, the police registered the case at 12 O clock in the night and we went to the hospital with medical memo immediately  in a van.  The police did not accompany us and so the duty doctor in out patient section refused to admit the case.  We had to argue with the lady and then entered the hospital.

What happened to the accused?:

After registering the case the accused was arrested and remanded. This triggered a conflict in area.

What kind of problem did you face in the area after registering the complaint?

Muniammal: The boys, parents, uncles and aunts were residing there. They were blaming us for making big issue of a petty quarrel. They belong to dominant caste in the area and we belong to pudhirai vannan community . My relatives said that if this incident had occurred for the girl of the upper caste, and perpetrated by a boy of our lower caste , the matter would have been entirely different, and they would have killed us and looted our houses.   But we had to endure it due our inferior caste  status. Any way, I am satisfied that we could fight  legally and we also held a protest demonstration with other women's organisations.  Then there was a quarrel in our group since members were from both the families. It was decided that if they participate in the demonstration we could have them in our group.   We gave them hand hills and they participated in the demonstration.  The group did not split.  What happened to the case filed?

CWW: The boy has been released in bail and he is attending the court. Our legal consultant, Advocate Rajini, is monitoring the case.  Meanwhile we applied for Victim Assistance Fund and Muniamma's family received Rs5000/ aid from the State Govt. of Tamilnad, in time

Girl child violence

An interview with Mr Rehman,  father of the sexually assaulted child, Alisha

Introduction

Alisha  is the daughter of Mr Rehman and  Mrs Fathima.  She is 6 years old and they belong to Kerala, Muslim Ravuther Community.They came to Madurai, 5 years back to start a small bag business, in search of livelihood, as he was also invited and advised by his sister who was already earning her livelihood at Madurai Town.

Initially they were residing at Poromboke, occupation of public land, in a thatched house. Then he moved to a rented house,in Labourers  Colony.  When he was residing, his neighbour's son,  MR.RS  assaulted the child. 

When did you come to Madurai ?

I came to Madurai 5 years back. Previously, I was working in Palkad in Kerala in a  leather company earning Rs500/ per week. I found it increasingly difficult to work there, continuously as the job was not assured and the unit was about to be closed. My sister was residing Therkuvasal at  Madurai and she advised me to shift to Madurai and do some small business. I came to town and started a small bag shop.

Where do you reside? 

Till now I was residing in a house portion and the landlord's relative's son, the accused, who sexually assaulted  my daughter,   stayed closer to our house in a portion. They belong to upper class community. We are from Muslim Ravuthar community. We were very friendly with each other.

The question was next put to, Mrs Fathima,  the mother of the victim:

 What happened on that day?

My daughter aged 6 years had a hand fracture and she was  sick and  at home with me. On 17.09.03, I was busy cooking and my child was sick and resting. At that time, MR.RS, the 16 years old son of the neighbor, who was studying in 11th year school, came and asked for permission to play with my daughter. I said she is sick and cannot play today. When I was in the kitchen at 7pm at night, the boy came into our house, and stuffed cloth into my daughter's mouth and carried her to his house, when there was no one.

Suddenly I heard the cry of my daughter and I saw her cloths wet and I forced her to tell what happened. When I heard it I rushed to my husband's shop.

Mr Rehman :  Initially I waited for some time to talk to the boy's parents.  They said we could take any action as per law. We were very good friends and I was hesitating for sometime to give a complaint. Then I went to the Centre for Working Women who took me to the Police Station with 20 members as a group to represent our case.

With previous handling experience in such incidents, our members behaved maturely and lodged a case with the police.  The Police officer helped us in taking immediate action. The DSP was called for and he came at 10 O clock in the night. We  took the boy's parents with us and the boy was brought and a case was filed .The boy was arrested and remanded.

CWW: The violence is the second of the type in the same area and continuous intervention of the women in the area changed the attitude of the police in the area. They helped.

 Poornima Advani, the Chairman of National Women's Commission  says :

Police is the first gate of the justice delivery system. We expect them to give protection to the victims of the oppressed section and create an atmosphere of security.
